REWILDING
A Retreat for coming home to oneself.
Spring
21 - 25 May 2026
Pays Basque, France
We are now aware that our energy bodies need as much care as our physical bodies.
Engage in a transformative journey with us, an ode to the soul's longing for sustenance, warmth, and profound connection. In a world often overshadowed by chaos, we invite you to rediscover the solace that resides within and around us.
Limited to just 8 spaces…
This autumn, join us for a renewing Basque journey imbued with energetic practices and somatic explorations
This retreat is an expedition into the heart of your innate human nature, a recognition of the connection to self through an intimate communion with the natural world. Like the ever-shifting tides, we'll delve into the ebb and flow of energy and patterns, etching intentions into the core of your being as we work with the tools of neuroscience and somatic (re)storytelling.
How We Will Start Our DaysEach morning, you will enjoy a light breakfast with freshly brewed Ethiopian coffee, tea, seasonal fruit and local treats from the region before we gather for a morning flow, chant, and/or cold plunge. This ritual will form our daily morning practice. After our breathwork and journaling session, we will begin each day with a variety of learning and soul-nourishing exploratory experiences, from a wild foraging expedition to hikes through the countryside, and somatic experiencing.…and Ease into the AfternoonsOur afternoons are spent in a variety of ways, including visits to the coast, an exploration of seasonal herbs, time to rest and integrate, and if the early autumn weather woos, the perfect perch to watch the sun dip below the Atlantic Sea. We always end our day in community and reflection by savoring a family-style meal together.

Jocelyn Ueng is a Taiwanese-Chinese American chef, creator, traveler, and entrepreneur. Her approach to cooking is rooted in a core belief: food is everywhere you look. She draws inspiration from nature, tuning into its rhythms to develop innovative recipes and flavors.
Traveling to 45+ countries, Jocelyn sees food through a global lens. Her craft focuses on microseasons, foraging, fermentation, and preservation; and the importance of these interconnected pieces as inputs to our ecosystem, our bodies, and our planet.
Jocelyn’s mission is to reconnect people to the land and nature through cooking and immersive dining experiences.
In 2019, I made the “radical” decision to turn in my corporate laptop for a chef’s apron and enrolled at The Culinary Institute of America. Since then, I’ve cooked at the world’s best restaurants, including The French Laundry, Satoyama Jujo, and most recently, noma.

What You’ll Take With You
What will you take away from this sacred gathering? The gift of being fully present, a profound re-centering within the boundless realm of your own existence. Our path doesn't follow a linear route; it winds like the branches of ancient trees, refusing to conform to conventional maps and boundaries. Much like the whisper of wind through leaves, we lure you to the sacred within, a place of both/and.
Here, you'll unfurl, transform, and become whole, all at once. Embrace your wild and sovereign essence, for you are the lunar explorer. As we traverse the thresholds of dawn and dusk, we find ourselves at the juncture of liminal spaces. It is here, in the in-between, that you'll rekindle the magic of being present with it all. This is our dream, our enchantment, woven within these words, this community, and the series of gatherings that await, commencing this winter. Be a part of the circle, and let your untamed spirit roam freely. We are all that is, everything at once, and our sanctuary is the ever-changing dwelling of our bodies, returning to the wild, again and again.

Know Before You Arrive
-
Book round-trip airfare to and from Biarritz, FR (BIQ) airport. Alternatively, book travel into Paris (CDG, ORY) and catch the direct train from Gare Montparnasse. You can also reach us via BCN, but it’s a little more logistics-heavy. Chartered transfers will take you from BIQ to the retreat house. You may arrive at the retreat house from 3 p.m. onward on February XXX. If you plan to arrive earlier, get in touch with us, or if you desire to arrive later than the available time frames, a private transfer can be arranged for you at your own expense. If your flight is delayed, we will book a private transfer for you. Outgoing transfers depart the retreat house at 11:00am on February XXX. Please plan transportation accordingly.
-
The beginning of February marks an ideal time to visit the French Basque region for renewing the spirit. While the tourists have all gone home, we’ll have this magical and healing coastline nearly to ourselves. We suggest checking the temperatures before you arrive, but typically, the days are mild, and the evenings can be somewhat brisk. We suggest packing a hat, a warm & cosy coat, comfy yoga clothes, and plenty of layers. Also, a bathing suit for those cold plunges!
-
Included in the price are three nights and four days at our private retreat abode, as well as all meals: a light breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All experiences listed in the itinerary are included, unless otherwise noted, such as renting surfing gear.
-
Your roundtrip airfare, travel insurance, and activities and meals not listed in the itinerary are not included in the trip price. Other expenses not included are any damages that occur to the retreat facility, laundry service, airport transfers outside of those outlined, and equipment for surface or other optional outdoor sports.
-
All bookings are final. No refunds are accepted. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance as we are not able to make exceptions to this policy in cases of any unforeseen family or medical emergencies that may result in you needing to cancel your trip.
-
You absolutely can — and we wholeheartedly encourage it.
Biarritz is only the beginning. After the retreat ends, you’re free to continue your journey — whether that means renting a car to explore the rugged Basque coast, hopping on a train to the French countryside, or flying onward to another corner of Spain.
Your return transfer to Biarritz Airport (BIQ) is included, but the path beyond is yours to shape. If your soul calls for more salt air, slow mornings, or small adventures — follow it. Swell Break may end, but the rhythm doesn’t have to.
