Join me for a convivial hoshigaki workshop this autumn to learn the art and craft of traditional Japanese hoshigaki (dried hachiya persimmons). This is one of my most treasured annual traditions and I’m excited to share it with you.
We’ll start with a bit of the history, followed by preparation and care techniques. Next we will each have a set of our own organic persimmons to peel and prepare. Each participant will head home with their own strand of persimmons to hang, before the rainy season arrives.
Workshop includes seasonal beverage and light snack. We will also have the honor of hosting Kogomochi for this one-night event.
